Message from the Founder

GPH was built on a foundation that began over 25 years ago, following the passing of my father and the transition of leadership at SM Tatsuguchi & Associates (SMTA). Taking over the business at that time was both a responsibility and an opportunity — to continue what he started while building something that could grow and serve our community in new ways.

Over the years, that vision expanded. In 2002, we launched Pure Real Estate (PRE) to serve the needs of property owners and tenants. In 2007, we established Island Temporary Nursing (ITN) to support healthcare staffing needs. Around 2015, BMA Hawaii (BMA) was created to provide dependable handyman and custodial services. And in 2020, Hawaii Healthcare School (HHCS) was founded to help train and prepare the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Each company was built to meet a real need — but more importantly, each was built on the same principles. At GPH, we believe in being fair, honest, reliable, and consistent, and always doing the right thing. These values guide every decision we make and every service we provide.

While our companies operate in different industries, they are all connected by a shared purpose: good people helping good people. Our goal has never been just to grow businesses — it has always been about making a difference. Everything we do is focused on one outcome: making our community a better place.
